Bad taste? Who ever decided what is bad taste and good taste in music? Who decided that acts like Westlife and Backstreet Boys are to be concidered "bad taste"? Just because band/artists like that usually are "produced" and hand picked? The music is also made to "please" youth in the world. But what in that makes the music bad? The questions is who had the right to decided that boy bands' music is bad taste? Also who decided what is "real" music and what is "fake" music?" Would you dare come up to me and say that Max Martin's music is fake? If you know me I can insure you that you would have second thoughts before you said a thing like that to me. If Max Martin wasn't writing from his heart and didn't have a talent he had never received all the success he has gotten. And if you write from the heart, how fake can it be? Who decided that other more producers make less "fake" music? How can any music be bad? Isn't it just a matter of different tastes? Why is the music bad just 'cause it's produced to earn money? If people love that music why shouldn't they pay for it? Sure you can argue that young girls buy the music because "Nick Carter is sooo cute". But yet again what in that makes the music bad? My friend Hanna made notice that even though many guys says "Boy band sucks!" it's a different story when they're drunk and out at clubs. They are the ones that sing along to every line of the boy bands' songs. It surely makes you wonder how they know all the lyrics. I never force myself to listen to songs I don't like and especially not learn all the lyrics! Could it be that they actually like that "fake" pop music? That "fake" pop music actually gets you in a good mood, that it's not really "bad taste", that's it's a matter of different tastes? Are guys and people in general just too insecure to confess that? I'm not trying to say that boy bands' music are good, just that if a person actually like boy bands' music it doesn't have to mean that they have bad taste. I love Max Martin's music 'cause it makes me happy to listen to. And to those who says that it's "bad taste" to like that music, could you please tell me what's bad with feeling good? |
