First up I like to make a general comment but how easy is it to do that to The Man of the men? The fact that he's my biggest idol doesn't make it any easier. I could do a "gracing speak", but it'd go on forever, I could name my favorite song, but that's impossible. So until better thoughts float in my head, all I can say is that he made the last 6-7 years an eternal joyride. His music has a piece of my heart for as long as I live. So, thank you eternally for doing so much for a person you don't even know.

How it all started...

Would you believe me if I said Max Martin started off his "career" in a record store? Naah I didn't think so, but it's true. If it wasn't for Denniz PoP's nose of talent he might still be a "normal working guy". But he's not...he's one of the world's biggest and most respected producer/songwriter out there, still.

Max Martin were once a singer in a heavy-metal band called Its Alive. They released one album in 1993, signed to Cheiron, and the same year Max met Denniz PoP when he offered to re-mix one of Its Alive's songs. The re-mix was never relased but Denniz was very impressed by Max's musical skills and asked if he would be interested in collaborating with him. At that time he worked at the record store "Mega Skivakademin".

After that they made hit after hit until Denniz PoP passed away in August 1998. With the heavy weight on his shoulders to carry on alone, it was a big pressure for him. But he sure proved that he was more then a passing face! In the year 1999 Max became the first non-american citizen ever to win ASCAP's prestigious award "Songwriter of the year". Then he won it again in the year 2000 and together with Andreas Carlson, in the year 2001.

People can keep saying that his time is now over but it doesn't get to me. Max Martin was and is the best, plain and simple. And I'll leave you with that note...
